| Wrap-up To Another Wonderful Summer

On August 2nd, Mo'MAGIC celebrated our 16th annual Backpack Giveaway at Ella Hill Hutch Community Center. We would like to thank all the community members and families who came out to support us, as well as the youth who showed up to receive backpacks. A special thank you to all the local CBOs and businesses, city departments, and faith-based organizations who came out to provide essential resources to the attendees. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our community partners, sponsors, and volunteers for their invaluable support in making our event a success.
On Tuesday, August 5th, in partnership with the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association and SFPD's Northern Station, we hosted the Western Addition's National Night Out at Ella Hill Hutch Community Center. We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the many organizations that provided resources, giveaways, and allowed our youth to have a fun and safe time outdoors.

CJCJ has released a Justice Services Care Model for the youth and families of those living both within and outside of the City and County of San Francisco. Check out the flyer above for more details about the services offered after a young person is arrested within the City.

FOG Readers is a personalized tutoring program specifically designed for students in grades 1-4 who live or attend school in San Francisco. As a tutor, you will receive 7.5 hours of training and undergo a one-time fingerprinting process, all at no cost to you. NOTES: Grants of up to $100,000 are available for nonprofits in Oakland and San Francisco, that are advancing health, education, mentoring and jobs programs to improve the outlook for youth in low-to-moderate income communities. Two types of grants are available: Grants to support current youth programming, create new programming or extend existing programming. (These grants will range from $25,000 to $75,000 over one year) -AND- Grants to support capital improvement projects that enhance the impact of youth programming. (These grants will range from $25,000 to $100,000 over one year)

NOTES: FOR-SITE is offering free docent led tours and group visits to school groups and youth serving organizations throughout the entire duration of the exhibition. A tour or visit to Black Gold can fill the need for safe and educational summer enrichment for youth groups. In addition to their school and community group initiatives, opportunities to engage with the exhibition as family will also be available. Events throughout the course of the exhibition, activating the fort with artist talks, music, and more will also be welcoming visitors to come reflect and engage.

Digital Equity: The Digital Equity program aims to increase digital literacy to help close the opportunity gaps present in communities of color or low-income. PPSSF will provide training on general topics such as accessing the internet affordably and filling out online forms as well as navigating the SFUSD enrollment process, and the SF Parks & Rec digital platform for classes, camps, and various digital platforms for transportation.

NOTES: At Sprouts Chef Training, we equip youth to rise from hardship through culinary training and job placement. Youth are paired with a chef mentor and case manager to develop the skills needed to secure and maintain a culinary job. Internships last a minimum of twelve hours a week and run from two to six months. Support will be provided to interns after the program has ended to ensure they succeed post-internship.
