JULY 2026

FROM THE PARENT PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Can you believe summer is coming to a close already? It has been great to meet and reconnect with so many of you in different cities at our Summer Send-Offs this year. Several more send-offs are still on the calendar, and we hope to meet more or our incoming families and reconnect with current families at these events.
The excitement is really starting to build as we look forward to having all of our students back on campus. I want to give a shoutout to our Student Life and Maintenance teams who have worked tirelessly to have campus ready to welcome our families back to campus.
If you're a new family, make sure you stop by the Welcome to the Herd party on Aug.10-11 in the Bennett Campus Center. It's the perfect way to get some swag, grab a snack, meet other families, and start feeling right at home. We can't wait to meet you!

FINANCIAL AID

Parents wanting to use loan funds for this year are encouraged to complete any application for Federal Parent Plus loans or private loans ASAP to meet the Aug. 1 payment arrangements deadline and avoid any late fees. Your approval can take only minutes from the lender but certifications with the school can take a few days.
These websites can help: studentaid.gov/plus-app (federal loan) or elmselect.com (private lender search) and nerdwallet.com/student-loans (good article comparing federal vs private loans). The Financial Aid Office is open daily 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to help. Thank you for making payment arrangements early!

SECURITY

University introduces a student parking permit fee
Having safe, reliable access to parking is an important part of your daily campus experience. To help make parking spaces more available, strengthen campus safety and ensure parking regulations are applied fairly and consistently, Lipscomb University will introduce a student parking permit fee beginning with the fall 2026 semester.
The fee applies only to students who bring a vehicle to campus and park in a Lipscomb lot (including the Stokes lot). Students who do not park a vehicle on a Lipscomb lot will not be charged.
The parking permit fee will be:
  • $100 for the 2026-27 academic year
  • $50 per semester for students who need a permit for only one semester, such as those graduating in December.
All new students who bring a vehicle to campus must register it with Lipscomb Campus Security. Returning students must reregister their vehicles for the fall semester because new permits will be issued for the 2026-27 academic year.
The new parking permit fee will help:
  • Support fair and consistent enforcement of campus parking regulations
  • Increase the availability of parking spaces by ensuring that only registered, permitted vehicles use campus lots
  • Strengthen campus safety by helping Lipscomb Campus Security officers identify vehicles that belong on campus
  • Cover the cost of maintaining campus parking areas
Payment may be made through the online vehicle registration portal or in person at the Campus Security Dispatch office. For a more convenient and streamlined process, students are encouraged to use the online portal for registration and payment. PLEASE NOTE: Each school year, students must reregister their vehicles and purchase a parking permit.
Securing your parking permit for the 2026-27 school year is a quick, easy two-step process:
  • STEP ONE: Register Your Vehicle. Click here to begin the registration process. Be sure to retain your registration email confirmation.
  • STEP TWO: Pay Your Parking Permit Fee. After you have completed the registration process, click here to pay for your 2026-27 parking permit. Retain your receipt after paying for your parking permit.
Beginning Aug. 10, parking permits will be available for pickup at the Lipscomb Campus Security Dispatch office, located on the lower level of Beaman Library. In addition, Campus Security will be set up in Bison Square and Bennett Campus Center the first week of classes for permit pickup. You MUST bring your registration confirmation and parking permit payment receipt with you to receive your permit.
All vehicles parked on campus must be registered with Lipscomb Campus Security and display a current, valid permit. Vehicles parked on campus without a valid permit will be subject to fines or towing.
For questions, contact Lipscomb Campus Security at security@lipscomb.edu or 615-966-7600.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to maintain a safe and accessible campus.
Save the Date for 2026 Bisons Weekend on Nov. 5-7!
