PageUp, our new Applicant Tracking System, is now fully live following its implementation last fall. This system enhances our recruitment and hiring processes, providing a more seamless and efficient experience for search chairs, hiring committees, and candidates.

To support this transition, we are actively developing tools and resources to assist with navigating PageUp. Search chairs and committees can review hiring procedures and access hiring resources on the Talent Acquisition website. Whether you're posting a position, reviewing applicants, or managing the hiring process, these resources will help ensure a smooth experience.

Pam Butler will be retiring this summer after 27 years at CC. Pam has been such a critical part of our team, it is hard to imagine CC without her. We will be backfilling her position before she leaves so she can pass on some of her knowledge. We're looking at June 25 as a potential retirement celebration. 

We’d also like to welcome Valerie Gallegos, who is our new Associate Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Development. In this role, Valerie will be leading our efforts to hire, train, and develop our employees.

Valerie was born and raised in Colorado Springs. She brings a wealth of experience to our team, having spent over a decade transforming K-12 education systems and working in Human Resources for the City. With the City, she successfully aligned her inclusive approach with strategic goals, making significant strides in developing talent, supporting leadership, enhancing hiring practices, and improving processes for nearly 3,000 employees—all through a DEI lens.

Valerie is passionate about breaking down barriers, fostering inclusive environments, and embracing diverse perspectives to enrich both the workforce and the community. For her, this isn't additional work —it's THE work.

When she is not on the job, Valerie loves spending quality time with her family and their dog, diving into a good book, playing pickleball, and cheering on football, basketball, or baseball teams (especially at the collegiate level). She also enjoys savoring a great cup of coffee.
