Dear Colorado College Community,

Last week I joined college and university presidents from across the country in Washington, D.C., for the NAICU Fall Leadership Meeting. Our sessions focused on current and proposed federal legislation affecting higher education, from affordability and accountability to research funding and institutional autonomy.

Much of our conversation turned to Secretary Linda McMahon’s Call to Action, which I first shared with our campus community in my Aug. 7 message. I heard from dozens of presidents about how their institutions are weighing next steps. Some have issued public responses, others have chosen not to, and many are still deliberating. Those exchanges underscored that no single answer fits every campus.

As I work with the Board to consider how Colorado College will proceed, I want to be guided by the full range of views within our community. If you haven’t yet shared your thoughts, I invite you to complete the Community Insights Survey by Friday, Oct. 30.

Submit Your Thoughts

Your input will inform my conversations with the Board of Trustees at our November meeting, and I look forward to sharing our decision with you by the end of the fall semester.

Thank you for your perspective.

Sincerely,

Manya Whitaker

President
