Sep 16, 2026   |  ATHENS CAMPUS

First, I want to remind you all of the resources I shared in my message yesterday and recognize the support I have already seen you show for one another.

I also want to remind you that you don’t have to have everything figured out right away. Give yourself time to settle in, take care of yourself and discover what works best for you.

This point in the semester is a good time to find a study spot where you can focus, explore a nearby trail at The Ridges between classes, grab a meal with a friend or spend some time doing something that helps you recharge. Small routines can make a big difference as the semester gets moving.

As always, reach out if I can be of support.

Scott J. Bye, Ph.D.
Interim Dean of Students

Four times each year, Ohio University welcomes families and friends to reconnect with their college students on the Athens Campus. Attend events September 25-27 like pickleball and golf, a D2 hockey game, movie at the Athena Cinema, or support Cats' Cupboard food pantry.
