February is Black History Month and there are a variety of ways to celebrate the history, culture, traditions, and contributions of African Americans. Attend the The Black Out: Black Student Organization Showcase and the 40th Annual MLK Celebration. Venture to the Grand Rapids Art Museum for As We Rise, a special exhibit that uplifts Black voices, histories, and creative expression. 

At this moment, our country and world are changing at a rapid pace. Campus Conversations provides a space for the GVSU community to check in with each other and discuss how we're doing. Join other Lakers and many campus partners in a conversation aimed to increase awareness, understanding, and mutual support on campus.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a fun paint and sip event hosted by the department of Alcohol and Other Drugs Services! Join them for an evening of creativity, mocktails, and fun. Supplies and refreshments are free. Bring your friends — everyone is welcome!

Dear Data at GVSU is hosting a meet-up! Dear Data invites all students, faculty, and staff to track information about one aspect of their daily life for one week, visualize that data on a postcard, and share it with the campus community. Track your habits, learn new things, and have fun!

Sex Education week is fast approaching. Enjoy campus-wide events hosted by the Center for Health and Well-being! Enjoy free goodies, fitness classes, HIV testing, line dancing, trivia, a comedy show, and education on sexual health. 

Campus Activities Board (CAB) invites everyone to celebrate the holiday of love. The first 100 attendees can start the night off by making a stuffed animal for free (Build-a-Bear style)! Enjoy some free treats and card making before Hypnostist David Hall takes the stage for an interactive, comedic hypnosis show!

Register by February 18 for Leadership Summit 2026. Enjoy inspiring talks, networking with peers and professionals, and participating in interactive workshops. 

Laker Dock is an app for all smartphones that is an all-in-one online hub for GVSU information. This app is designed for students to access resources on campus, class schedules, event announcements, and other news. Laker Dock is an app available on iOS and Android devices!

If you are interested in getting involved on campus and want to make a change, join Student Senate as a student senator! But first, you need to get on the ballot. To be on the ballot, collect 50 signatures from the student body. Be on the lookout for Student Senate candidates looking for petition signatures!
