Cleary Construction recently began blasting work as part of the Ragsdale Road widening project. The company anticipates it will have to periodically blast through rock over the next three months.
Cleary is following the blasting guidelines set by the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office, which were developed to prevent damage to nearby structures. If you have concerns or complaints about blasting, contact the State Fire Marshal at 615-741-7190 or submit a complaint at this link: https://bit.ly/4jpyN6P

Farwell Chief Hickey, Welcome Chief Colvin
This February, Brentwood Police Department Chief Richard Hickey will retire, ending his more than 34-year law enforcement career with the city. Hickey joined the BPD in 1991 as a patrol officer, and over the past three decades, he has served in numerous capacities, including field training officer, crime scene technician, detective, and captain. After serving as assistant chief, he was appointed Chief of Police in 2022.
Once Hickey retires, Brentwood Assistant Police Chief Jim Colvin will become the city’s fifth Chief of Police. Colvin joined the BPD in December 2004, serving over the last 20 years as a patrol sergeant, a detective, a patrol lieutenant, and a captain over the City’s Patrol Division. He was named assistant chief of police in 2022.
Congratulations to both chiefs.
