Aspiring Leaders Academy
Applications are now open for UT's signature faculty leadership program, the Aspiring Leaders Academy. Academic leaders play a vital role in guiding the University’s strategic direction by fostering innovation in research, teaching, service and mentorship. This program is intended for midcareer faculty interested in exploring leadership opportunities, as well as current academic leaders seeking to further develop and refine their skills. Faculty who are curious about leadership pathways but have not yet held a formal leadership position are especially encouraged to apply.

"Every Summer Needs a Plan" Workshop

The provost’s Faculty Affairs team will be sponsoring an all-day, in-person workshop intentionally timed as the spring semester ends and faculty are preparing for the summer. In this interactive workshop faculty will craft a strategic plan outlining professional (and personal) goals for what they hope to accomplish over the summer, and identify types and sources of community, support and accountability that might be needed to meet those goals.

Dossier Prep Sessions are intended for faculty promotion candidates who will be undergoing promotion review in fall 2026. FERPA Faculty Training Requirement: Grace Period Ending on April 12 Current faculty and instructors who have yet to complete their assigned FERPA training now have a one-time grace period to complete it in UT Learn. The grace period ends on Sunday, Apr. 12. If you have not completed the training by then, you will lose access to certain student information systems (including CLIPS and Advisors’ Toolkit) beginning Monday, Apr.13, until the training requirement is completed. Login to UT Learn to complete the training. For questions or assistance with the training, email training@compliance.utexas.edu.

New Research Commercialization Resources Discovery to Impact has new resources to support faculty advancing their innovations. These include an AI-enabled disclosure portal that streamlines the invention disclosure process and makes it easier for faculty to work alongside the IP team to protect their ideas, as well as an Express License program designed to accelerate the path from discovery to startup. Faculty Ambassadors are also available across CSUs to discuss research commercialization opportunities and provide guidance to colleagues. Contact us to learn more about serving as an ambassador.
