As off-campus fest season begins again this year, I encourage everyone to keep safety top of mind if you choose to participate. Make responsible decisions, stay aware of your surroundings and look out for one another.
Here are a few tips to help you plan ahead and make smart choices:

- Make plans with friends and stay with people you trust.
- Set clear expectations for your guests and your home.
- Act responsibly and look out for one another.

Stay Safe and Be an Active Bystander:
|

Be aware of your surroundings and your own behavior.
- If something doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate to call for help.
- Support friends or guests who may feel uncomfortable, and help them leave unsafe situations.

If you're worried about someone’s level of intoxication, please remember that OHIO’s Medical Emergency Assistance Program allows you to call for help without fearing Student Code of Conduct violations.
- For emergencies, always call 911.

Keep Your Future in Mind:

- Your well-being and future goals are more important than any fest.

The Student Code of Conduct applies to behavior that takes place on and off-campus. Having a student conduct record may impact your ability to take part in certain activities and programs such as Study Away and getting an exemption to live in your Greek letter house.

Remember that what happens at fests can live on through social media — long after the fun is over.
- Poor decisions could impact your opportunities for jobs, internships, graduate school and more.

There are also a number of sober, alternative events hosted by the Collegiate Recovery Community throughout the spring. Remember, each of you plays a part in looking out for yourselves, your friends and the broader community. Thank you for continuing to represent Ohio University well and for supporting your fellow Bobcats.

At OHIO, every voice counts. Make Respect Visible will host a (nonpartisan) voter registration drive from March 28-April 4 at tabling events around campus and online. The current nationwide record for a single campus is 2,200; let’s band together and beat the record, Bobcats! Any voter who is legally eligible may register and/or check their current registration status. Trained volunteer staff can submit your completed form or you may opt to drop it off to the Athens County Board of Elections yourself if preferred.

Leading for a Cause retreats |
The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership is hosting two Leading for a Cause retreats this semester for any Ohio University students. These experiences are free and provide the opportunity to engage with people at organizations from for-profits to NGOs to city sites. Register by March 20 for the Columbus retreat and March 27 for the Athens retreat.

The Maggie Davis Express Market will open on the ground floor of Baker this year. This self-checkout market will offer items such as snacks, beverages, grab-and-go meals, and other essentials, with longer hours than other Culinary venues.

Whether you’re looking to switch things up, have concerns about your current space or just want to talk through your options after room selection, our Housing staff is here to help. We’ll guide you through the room change process, offer tips on how to find your ideal space, and answer any questions you have about roommates or room selection. Times and locations:

As we enter the second half of the semester, it's an important time to prioritize stress management. Drop in at a Creative Coping Café— a space to learn and practice an art-based coping strategy while connecting with peers. Attend a Cafe in Lindley Hall 052 on Tuesdays from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
