This Week's Puzzler

Sound Barrier

Puzzler time.

This one is short. Like shorter than most of the others.

And you could look this up easily and cheat. So, don't do that.

Here it is.

What human-made object first broke the sound barrier?

Good luck.

Water on the Floor

Puzzler time again folks. Puzzler season is back.

Here we go.

Years ago our friend Ron was asked if he would house sit while his brother was on vacation. His brother asked him to water the plants and check on the house for a couple of week. Make sure no one breaks in or the house doesn't burn down. You know, all that normal house sitting stuff.

And Ron tells him not to worry. All will be well. So, his brother leaves for vacation.

The next day, Ron stops by and waters all the plants. They look okay. Before he leaves he uses the restroom.

Ron comes back 11 days later to water the plants again. He checks all the plants, waters them again. All seems fine. But as he is getting ready to leave, he hears water running somewhere in the house. He thinks this is strange. So he investigates. He finds that the toilet he used when he was there the first time has been running. And it has been running for 11 days now. So he jiggles the handle and the toilet stops running. It is then that he notices there is water on the floor. The toilet had been leaking. He estimated that there were several gallons of water on the floor. He examines the toilet, but he can't figure out what is wrong with it.

So he calls a plumber, and the plumber himself determines that there is nothing wrong with the toilet or the plumbing whatsoever.

Where did the three gallons of water come from?
