Dear Colleagues,

As announced in January, UIC is implementing Interfolio as the university’s system for promotion and tenure review, faculty activity tracking and reporting, and web profiles. This change will significantly improve our systems for reporting and review, and ease the administrative burden for faculty, leaders, reviewers, and staff. I encourage you to visit the Interfolio at UIC webpage, introduced in the earlier announcement, which serves as the central resource for this initiative. The webpage provides a comprehensive overview of the initiative, including module details, training opportunities, frequently asked questions, and support resources.

The phased launch of Interfolio at UIC will first introduce the Review, Promotion, and Tenure (RPT) module, which will be required to use for the 2026-27 P&T review cycle. Updates regarding Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) and Web Profiles will be forthcoming.

RPT TRAINING DATES & ACCESS
The webpage has recently been updated to include the scheduled training dates and Zoom links for the RPT module for the following user roles:

  • College & Unit P&T Coordinators
    Tuesday, March 31 | 2:00 – 3:00 pm. | Join via Zoom
  • Unit Executive Officers (UEOs) and Deans
    Tuesday, April 7th | 2:00 – 3:00 pm. | Join via Zoom
  • Faculty Candidates
    Thursday, April 9th | 4:00 – 5:00 pm. | Join via Zoom
  • Committee Reviewers
    Training will take place in late May or early June (details forthcoming).

Deans, UEOs, and college coordinators are asked to widely share these training details with their respective faculty and staff across colleges and units, particularly with those involved in the 2026-27 P&T review cycle.

All trainings will be recorded and available to view from the P&T webpages for Administrators & Coordinators and for Faculty.

GUIDANCE & SUPPORT BEYOND TRAINING
Beyond the training sessions:

  • The P&T guidelines scheduled for release in April will include detailed step-by-step instructions for using RPT tailored to each user role.
  • The OVPFA Reviews Team will offer open office hours to support all users throughout the review cycle. Questions can always be sent to facultyreviews@uic.edu.
  • Consultation opportunities and learning resources provided by Interfolio will also be available to all users.
