LOS ANGELES—cityLAB-UCLA, the university’s interdisciplinary hub for design research into new housing models, public-space interventions, and policy, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with “cityLAB at 20,” a public event on Monday, October 12, at 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in UCLA Architecture and Urban Design’s (UCLA AUD) Perloff Decafe and Courtyard.
“cityLAB at 20” will examine the center’s most consequential findings and proposals, while asking a forward-looking question: What comes next for L.A. and cities around the world?
Alongside cityLAB founding director Dana Cuff, speakers will include former Los Angeles Times architecture critic Christopher Hawthorne, journalist and host of the “Torched” podcast Alissa Walker, and more, applying their knowledge of L.A.’s design challenges to answer a shared prompt: What should cityLAB tackle in its next 20 years?
