Clin-STAR Call For Applications!

The Clinician-Scientists Transdisciplinary Aging Research (Clin-STAR) Coordinating Center is seeking to fund aging research development and training awards that aim to prepare early career investigators for careers in aging-related research and stimulate new collaborations focused on the development of clinically relevant aging research projects.

This mechanism provides funding for up to four grants in 2025. Up to $50,000 in direct cost and up to 8% ($4,000) for indirect cost may be budgeted. Awards will be made to early-career clinician-scientists who work collaboratively with established (senior) investigator(s). A mentor with aging research expertise is required. This mentor can be at the same institution or another institution. Additional mentors are allowed. The Clin-STAR Coordinating Center can assist with matches if needed.

Note: Non-exempt human subject research cannot be supported through this mechanism.

Letters of intent are due on May 1, 2025.

Clin-STAR Visiting Professor Fund

Interested in bringing a clinical researcher in geriatrics to your institution for Grand Rounds or other training activities? The Clin-STAR Visiting Professor Program is designed to expose faculty and trainees to leaders in aging research. Up to $3,000 may be requested to cover travel in the U.S., meals, accommodations, and honorarium of up to $1,000. Clin-STAR has identified leaders in aging research across disciplines and medical and surgical specialties who are willing to visit your institution to provide education, training and mentoring. Clin-STAR staff are available to assist your staff with coordination. Please share this opportunity with colleagues!

NIH is adopting the Biographical Sketch Common Form and the Current and Pending (Other) Support Common Form in 2025 (May 25, 2025 implementation has been postponed). Learn more about the new biosketch requirements and how to prepare for the change here.

The 2025 Bootcamp will be led by a faculty of more than 15 experienced delirium researchers, who collectively, have expertise in everything from animal models, biomarkers, epidemiology, clinical trials, implementation science, delirium assessment and statistical methods. Applications are due July 7, 2025.

Hevolution Foundation Scientific Conferences Fund
Deadlines: April 30, July 31, October 31, January 31

Proposals for the support of scientific meetings, conferences, and workshops relevant to the mission of the Hevolution Foundation will be considered. Up to $10,000 per meeting may be requested, but the Hevolution Foundation will determine the final amount based on several factors, including but not limited to the number of expected attendees, duration of the meeting, and meeting venue.
