Welcome Egeria, Our First Infant of 2023!

Born on January 6 to parents Rodelinda and Johann, "strong, vocal, and beautiful" Egeria is the DLC's first birth of the new year! The 126-gram baby sifaka was named by the Cooke family, who are longtime supporters of the DLC's conservation programs in the SAVA region of Madagascar.

Curatorial Team Receives Presidental Award

The DLC's curatorial team has received Duke University's highest staff and faculty honor. Huge congrats to Colony Curator Britt Keith, Assistant Curator Kristin Clark, and Curator of Behavioral Management and Welfare Meg Dye—recipients of Duke's 2022-23 Presidential Award! New Matching Funds and Legacy Gifts

Your new legacy gift commitment could earn the DLC up to $10,000 in matching, current-year funds from Duke University!

Here are the main ways that you can plan now to help the DLC in the future:

Include a bequest to the DLC in your will or living trust
Name the DLC as beneficiary of a retirement plan
Establish a life income gift, such as a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust, that pays you income for life and provides support for Duke in the future
