Lecturer Rachael Mariboho said her course, “Women in Literature and Art (Taylor’s Version)” combines her passion for pop culture and teaching literature. Students in the course connect Swift’s lyrics to a selection of women’s literature, art, and films by spotting references to other works and analyzing thematic similarities.

| Brewing and Fermentation Science certificate

The Dallas Morning News featured UTA’s Brewing and Fermentation Science certificate, which launched this spring and is open to those 21 or older even if they’re not enrolled at the University. The five-week, online course teaches the biology and chemistry involved in the beer-making process as well as the history behind it.

Bookstore to close early on Friday

The UTA Bookstore will close at noon on Friday, March 8, for inventory, but you can still purchase items at www.utashop.com. The bookstore will reopen its physical location on Monday, March 11.

| Road closure this weekend
|
Greek Row Drive and parts of Summit Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9-10 and Friday, March 15, while crews work to install water lines in the new Greek Life Community Center. Detour signs will be posted in the area during each closure.

Camp Arlington at UTA is offering a summer day camp to children ages 3-5 and to those entering first through fifth grade. Kidventure’s camp curriculum will include athletics, art, team building, rock climbing, archery, field trips, special guests, yoga, and fine and gross motor skills. Registration is open now, so sign up today! The tuition cost for each week of camp is $340, with discounts for two or more children in the same family, UTA faculty members, and AISD teachers.

The Ben and Trudy Termini Distinguished Anthropologist Lecture for 2024 will be given by David Samson, director of the Sleep and Human Evolution Lab at the University of Toronto at Mississauga. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, with a reception from 6-7 p.m. The event will be held in the College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs auditorium.
