Fall 2023 Brown Bag
Throughout this academic year, we have organized 14 Brown Bag sessions that have attracted over 400 attendees in total. We extend our gratitude to the faculty, graduate teaching assistants, and staff who have generously shared their experiences with our university community. We are looking forward to continuing our Brown Bag series in Fall 2023. For anyone interested in leading a session, please email us at cakpovo@utk.edu to submit ideas for sessions they would like to lead.

Video Tip of the Month

Making Snackable Content
Last month, we talked about the benefits of creating “bite-sized,” 5-7-minute video content for your course.
But how do you begin?
Here are some quick tips to think about when developing your layout of lecture video content:
  • Identify the content that aligns with one of your learning objectives
  • Look at your material as a whole. Are there logical breaks in the format that you can leverage?
  • Keep core content in a micro-lecture to no more than three main points.
  • Try to find an emotional connection to your material. When content is relevant and interesting, your audience retains more of the information.
If you’d like support from the Online Learning Media Studio team to help structure your lecture content, contact them via the consultation form or by phone at 865-974-9450.

AI in Education Resources
