MavsMeet Convocation at College Park Center
|
Kick off the semester on the east side of campus at MavsMeet Convocation, Monday, Aug. 21, at 5:30 p.m. Join fellow Mavericks at College Park Center for an evening of UTA traditions, entertainment, and guest speakers.
This year's featured convocation speaker is Laurie Hernandez, American Olympic medalist in gymnastics, Dancing with the Stars champion, and author of two New York Times bestsellers.
After convocation, join fellow faculty and staff at a reception in the College Park Center Hospitality Suite. If you plan to attend, RSVP online.

1,000-pound food donation
|
Woodland Foods, in partnership with Chartwells Higher Education and Maverick Dining, made a 1,000 lb. food donation to the Maverick Pantry this week. Maverick Pantry accepts donations of gently used household items (e.g., plates, silverware, photo frames, cups, etc.) and food. Items can be dropped off during normal operating hours.

Meghna Tare, chief sustainability officer, spoke to Dallas Innovates about how to approach complex problems in sustainability. Tare recently served as a judge in a sustainability competition for Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, the first carbon-neutral airport in North America.

| MavExpress moves to College Park District
|
The MavExpress ID Office is moving to College Park District at 435 Spaniolo Dr. Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Need an ID card now? You can stop by the University Center location during the first two weeks of school. All you need to bring is a government-issued ID.

Panera Bread's Unlimited Sip Club is back in full swing. Students and employees can redeem self-serve drinks once every two hours and enjoy unlimited refills while they're in the cafe. Subscribers enjoy perks like Sip Club Saturday deals, VIP challenges, and surprises.

| Women's Volleyball kickoff
|
UTA Women's Volleyball season begins Friday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. UTA students receive free admission with a valid student ID. Additionally, students can accumulate points for simply attending games and redeem them for great prizes and gear by downloading the MavCity Rewards app in the App Store.

UTA Night at the Dallas Wings
|
Join your fellow Mavericks for a night with the Dallas Wings as they take on the Minnesota Lynx at College Park Center Thursday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $12. The first 100 tickets will get a free-throw shot on the court after the game. Use code WINGSUTA2023 at checkout.
