Sac State guarantees admission for youth who have experienced foster care |
Sacramento State has announced a groundbreaking initiative guaranteeing admission to students who have experienced foster care. The "Guardian Scholars Promise" ensures automatic acceptance and support services for qualified applicants, starting fall 2025.
"We want to signal to foster youth everywhere that Sacramento State cares about you and your academic goals," said President Luke Wood. "We have staff and faculty who are dedicated to treating you with the dignity and respect you deserve."
The program builds on the success of the University's Guardian Scholars Program, which provides comprehensive support including priority housing, academic advising and financial assistance to help students overcome unique challenges and thrive in college.
