Race for Sight this weekend!

The Hamilton Eye Institute Lions Club’s 7th annual Brad Baker Honorary Race for Sight 5K is this Saturday, March 2, at 9:00 am, at Shelby Farms Park. You can run the race in person or virtually or donate to the cause without running. Funds raised go toward providing eye care for the underserved.

The Wolf River Conservancy invites the UT Health Science Center community to its 19th Annual Tree Planting this Saturday, March 2, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, at New Chicago Park (Breedlove Street and St. Charles Avenue). Volunteers are needed to plant more than 1,000 native trees along Leath Bayou. Register by Friday at 5:00 pm.

| The Literature of Prescription

Stop by the second floor of the Health Sciences Library now through April 6 to see the National Library of Medicine’s traveling exhibit, “The Literature of Prescription.” The exhibit centers on the story, “The Yellow Wall-Paper,” and its indictment of the medical profession and social conventions restricting women's opportunities.

Food Bank Volunteers Needed

Help feed people in need by volunteering at the Mid-South Food Bank! There are multiple dates open – March 20, March 27, April 17, and April 24, each from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Tasks include sorting, quality-checking, and boxing donated food. Transportation will be provided.
