Global Week of Prayer Recap

“What a beautiful time! I’m feeling the Spirit of God touching people around the world.” This was one participant’s response during the 30th annual Global Week of Prayer, March 1-7 of this year.
Leading up to the Global Week of Prayer, NMI shared videos of young people from around the globe praying for regions other than their home region. The involvement of these young leaders helped build excitement and engagement.

To honor 30 years of faithful global prayer, NMI translated prayer booklets for children and adults into 30 languages. Additionally, for the first time, participants were invited into virtual prayer rooms each day. Global NMI President Christine Mosuela coordinated this effort, with each region hosting prayer for its participants. Over 1,400 joined these online sessions, and it was a blessing to see faces from multiple nations on the screen and hear many languages lifted in prayer to God.

In many nations around the world, the week became a special time of celebration. An NMI President from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico shared this testimony:
"For our congregation, Global Week of Prayer is a time of celebration, festivity, and mutual intercession. During these days, we come together in small groups to represent each region where the Church of the Nazarene is present. We have virtual and in-person meetings to participate in the assigned prayer days for each region.
"We have prayer leaders who coordinate the participation, and on the closing day, each group prepares a presentation from their assigned region. The entire congregation gets involved, wearing traditional clothing, singing hymns in other languages or dialects, and, above all, sharing what Christ has done in those places. It is a time to glorify God for all his goodness!"

“It fills us with joy to participate in activities where we enjoy fellowship and prayer as a congregational spiritual practice. We know that cities like ours (Mérida, Yucatán) offer more and more distractions for young people, children, and families; therefore, our prayer is that the Global Week of Prayer will always be a time awaited and longed for where God manifests himself as he has done until now.”

- Pray for the prayer requests found in the Global Week of Prayer booklet.
- Pray that the passion for prayer will continue to grow and spread among Nazarenes in every region.
|
|
| - Praise God that young people led the way in prayer for the regions.
- Praise God that he heard the prayers in the many languages lifted during the Global Week of Prayer and he will answer.
