Socializing Medicine: Health Humanities and East Asian Media is a cutting-edge volume co-edited by three University of Chicago alumni: Pao-chen Tang (UChicago PhD’20), Yuqian Yan (UChicago PhD’20), and Ling Zhang (UChicago PhD’16). The launch event will bring together the three co-editors, contributors to the volume, and prominent health humanities scholars based in Hong Kong and Guangzhou for a dynamic discussion on the critical intersections between media, health, and society.

“Of Color and Ink” documents the 30-year exile of 20th-century Chinese master Chang Dai-chien. This revelatory film, a 12-year project by Director Weimin Zhang, explores her artistic quest and global influence. The screening will be followed by a conversation and Q&A with the director.
