Mosheh Oinounou Recognized by National Press Foundation

In 2020, former CBS Evening News Executive Producer Mosheh Oinounou ’00 launched Mo News on Instagram with the mission to break down daily headlines in an understandable and non-partisan way. Mo News has since expanded to include a popular newsletter and podcast. In recognition of his profound impact on journalism, the National Press Foundation has selected Mosheh as the 2023 recipient of the Chairman’s Citation. This annual award, which will be presented in Washington, D.C. next month, celebrates individuals whose accomplishments fall outside the traditional categories of excellence.

Alumna Joins Team Jamaica for Upcoming Cup of Nations

University of Notre Dame senior Kiki Van Zanten ’19 is heading to Australia next month to compete on the Jamaica women’s soccer team at the Cup of Nations. The forward previously represented the USA before making the move to the Jamaica senior national team last year. She quickly gained attention when she scored her debut goal at the CONCACAF Women’s Championship, earning her team a third-place finish. This past fall, Kiki was also named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after she helped propel the Fighting Irish to their first perfect non-conference slate since 2008.

Senior Dan Rybin Recreates Stevenson Campus in Minecraft

Since freshman year, Dan Rybin has been building a 3D, digital replica of the SHS campus in Minecraft. Now a senior, Dan is putting the final touches on and sharing his creation with fellow Patriots. “I completed the entire structure days before this school year started. I still have to add in the parking lots and athletic fields, meaning that topography will be the biggest challenge,” shared Dan.

SHS Junior Named Youth Adviser to Mental Health Board

Vernon Township’s community mental health board kicked off their inaugural meeting by naming Kashyap Rajesh their youth adviser. "It's so important that we have youth voices represented on this board. This issue transcends just adults. It's also about youth," said Kashyap, who is a member of the Stevenson Catalyst Club and campaigned for the referendum to launch the board.
