A Warm Welcome Back to the Hilltop
Our office is happy to welcome you back for the spring 2024 semester! We hope that your winter break was restful and restorative and that you feel ready to resume your studies. As you get settled and begin your courses, we want to update you about our services and remind you of upcoming deadlines.
Our ServicesStudents can access ISSS services in person and online. Our front desk, located at the University Center (fifth floor) is open Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Students can walk in until 4 p.m., and ISSS will be available to take calls from 4–5 p.m. Please note that most requests should be submitted via our online portal, MyISSS, and once processed, downloaded from MyISSS. For help navigating MyISSS, check out the MyISSS Student Handbook. Our processing time for all requests is 10 business days.

ISSS Appointment Platform Update
In our ongoing efforts to enhance your experience, we will be transitioning to 10to8 as our new platform for scheduling appointments and signing up for workshops. This transition is scheduled to take place in mid-February.

Health Promotion ServiceImmunization Requirement Deadline: Jan. 15Health Insurance Waiver Deadline: Feb 1 Catharsis Courses Deadline: Jan. 15- If you are a new and incoming student this spring 2024 semester, you will be required to complete a mandatory course through Catharsis Productions. Please complete the course(s) ASAP if you have not already done so — the deadline was Jan. 15. Check your email for invitations and reminders to take this course.
U Got This! (undergraduate course) or U Got This 2! (graduate course) is an engaging conversation about bystander intervention, consent, healthy relationships, sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
Binge Thinking (undergraduate course) is an interactive, online alcohol abuse prevention program that addresses the effects of alcohol use and abuse, including its impact on cognition, academic success, personal relationships, as well as vulnerability to violence. Take the Catharsis course(s) »

Watercolor ClassJoin the Welcome Weekend: Watercolor Class on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 11:30 a.m.–4 p.m. Welcome Weekends are FREE TRIPS for incoming freshmen and transfer students ONLY.
The Great Meadow at Fort Mason is popular for its view of the Golden Gate Bridge and you have the chance to join a watercolor class! Come out for a fun day in the park, learn how watercolors work, and paint the Golden Gate Bridge with your friends! This workshop includes instruction, brushes, canvas, paints, cups, rags, and pencils. Please bring water, something to sit on, and something to paint on top of (like your sitting desk).

The Academic English for Multilingual Students (AEM) Program matches international students (for whom English is not their primary language) with members of the USF community who are highly proficient English speakers and have deep knowledge of American culture. Conversation partners meet regularly throughout the semester, approximately once a week for at least an hour, and talk about anything they want. Register here »

If you are requesting an immigration document or letter from our office, remember that we request 10 business days to process requests. Make sure you plan accordingly so you have enough time to receive your document before you need it. All ISSS requests should be submitted through the MyISSS student portal (select the home icon, site home, and then requests on the left-hand menu). You can view our MyISSS Student Handbook for assistance with your submission.
