Dean's Note
When we think about innovation and advancement, we often picture huge, groundbreaking discoveries that capture news headlines. However, some of the most crucial discoveries happen in the minutiae, and the impact can alter our fundamental understanding of the world and our place in it. From studying the tiny particles that make up our universe, to exploring the chemistry of sugars found in breast milk, to painstakingly reviewing hundreds of thousands of delicate historic records to identify enslaved people, A&S faculty and students pursue knowledge and understanding in science labs, art studios, archaeological sites, museums, and the galaxy—leaving no corner unexplored.
