In living into this year's theme of the power of personal public narrative, each month, we will pose a new prompt to hear from our Kaufman community directly.
For November, we asked you to tell us about a time when you experienced wonder or awe. Here are some of the answers from our Kaufman community:
On a trip with friends to upstate New York in March, we chose to try a new adventure: snow shoeing. We took off down a trail in the Adirondacks...and with the snow padding all of nature, it made everything so remarkably quiet. At point on the hike, we took a moment to be still and took a minute just to listen. It was the most quiet, outdoor experience I've ever had. It was truly a moment of awe individually, but also collectively.

Anytime I am in nature alone I feel so much awe at the variety of life that has persisted to be here at the same time as us!

I was on a meditation retreat in northern Michigan. It was winter, and after a deep meditation late at night I went outside. I looked up and saw more stars than I think I ever have. If I had just looked up without the meditation just prior I'm sure I would have felt something similar. But there is no question that the deep sit beforehand intensified the experience.
