Pioneering Black Honors College
opens doors to first 80 scholars |
On Aug. 8, Sacramento State launched its historic Black Honors College, the first of its kind nationwide, welcoming an inaugural cohort of 80 students.
The grand opening celebration featured high-profile supporters, including a White House representative and a video message from former President Barack Obama. The college offers a curriculum centered on the Black and African American experience to students of all backgrounds.
"Sac State is exemplifying what we can do across the CSU," said Chancellor Mildred Garcia, highlighting the program's significance for the entire system.
