AA-FP-PO-05 Committee on Rules and Elections Policy
This policy was reviewed as part of the five-year review process. Minor edits were made to clarify the committee membership structure. Committee members serve a two-year term and may not serve more than three consecutive terms. Functions of the committee have been revised, including computing the number of electoral positions, scheduling of elections, procedures for the elections, and certifying election results.
BF-AS-PR-09 Charges for Departmental Services Procedure
This procedure was updated as part of a regularly scheduled five-year review. Processes were updated for interdepartmental fund transfers when a department charges another department for providing a product or service.
BF-PGS-PO-02 Gift Card Policy and BF-PGS-PR-13 Gift Card Procedure
This new policy and procedure provide guidelines on when gift cards can be purchased with university funds. They also describe the process for purchasing, tracking, awarding, and storing gift cards.
GA-LA-PO-03 Education Records Policy
This policy was updated to reflect current procedures for students requesting access to their education records. A paragraph on disciplinary records was added, with an explanation of how disciplinary actions are noted on transcripts. The definition of directory information was clarified to include UTA-issued email addresses.
HR-E-PO-18 MavTemp Temporary Employment Services Policy and HR-E-PR-37 MavTemp Temporary Employment Services Procedure
This new policy and its related procedure outline the processes and procedures for meeting short-term staffing needs for UTA business units. The MavTemp program utilizes a pool of qualified temporary employees who are familiar with the goals, mission, vision, culture, and organizational structure of UTA. These temporary staffing assignments will not exceed 4 months.
RA-PO-01 Research Misconduct Policy
The policy name was changed from “Misconduct in Research” to “Research Misconduct." A paragraph was added stating that authorship disputes and cases of detrimental research practices will be addressed by the academic unit. Self-plagiarism was added as potential research misconduct. Once the presiding official determines an investigation is necessary, the investigation must begin within 30 days. The respondent will be notified in writing of the allegations. In addition, the respondent must be given written notice of any new allegations of research misconduct if allegations are pursued that were not addressed during the inquiry or in the initial notice of investigation. Definitions for detrimental research practices, research integrity, self-plagiarism, and scientific integrity were added to the policy.
