Emory University Chaplaincy Student Worker Spotlight
Sumaya Abdi (she/her) is from Nashville, Tennessee, and is an Emory junior planning to graduate Spring 2027. She is working towards a degree in Data Science. While at Emory, she has been involved in Emory Data Interpreters Association, Emory Data Science Club, and Judo.
What Sumaya likes best about working at OSRL is “the kind of community we are able to create.” Her current super power is empathy, but the gift she’d like to have is telepathy. When not working or studying, you might find Sumaya rewatching Glee, Desperate Housewives, doing judo, or eating pistachio cheesecake.
