The MD Class of 2026 had a 95% match rate, with thirty students (30.9%) staying in the state of South Carolina for their residency appointments. Forty-three matched into primary care (44.3%), including 23 students in internal medicine, nine in pediatrics and 11 in family medicine. Overall, SOMC students will begin their residencies across the country in 19 states.
Your Next Chapter Begins was this year's theme, where students located a book adorned with their name and the School of Medicine logo on a bookshelf, before finding their dedicated space at a beautifully decorated table at the Columbia Museum of Art's Boyd Plaza in the heart of downtown Columbia.Click here to read the full story.
