Hoops and history: Honoring 130 years of excellence

Kick off the yearlong celebration of UTA's 130th anniversary at the men's basketball game today, Thursday, Jan. 30, starting at 7 p.m. at College Park Center. Show your Maverick pride and cheer on your basketball team in its battle against Southern Utah University.

If you know students who have a passion for design and an eye for fashion, encourage them to create and submit a commemorative tartan design to the Tartan Design Competition. They could win a $1,000 scholarship and have their design featured on University merchandise sold in the UTA Bookstore.

UTA's men's basketball team will take on Tarleton State University in a WAC game that will air nationally on ESPNU. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. UTA Athletics is offering faculty and staff a chance to claim up to four free tickets, using promo code FS222. A limited number of free tickets is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Help UTA set a new attendance record for College Park Center.

| GTA and GRA Benefits Orientation

| Focus group for student parents

UTA’s Nationwide Faculty Fellow Sophia Fantus is holding focus groups for student parents at UTA Tuesday, Feb. 11, and Wednesday, Feb. 12. Participants will receive free lunch and a visa gift card. Share the sign-up form with your students who have children under the age of 18 and want to be heard and supported at UTA.
