Lecturer Rachael Mariboho said her course, “Women in Literature and Art (Taylor’s Version)” combines her passion for pop culture and teaching literature. Students in the course connect Swift’s lyrics to a selection of women’s literature, art, and films by spotting references to other works and analyzing thematic similarities.

The UTA women's basketball team will begin its Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, March 13, at 2 p.m. and the UTA men's basketball team will begin its WAC Tournament at the same location on Thursday, March 14, at 10:30 p.m. Watch the Mavs score their way to victory in the quarterfinals on ESPN+.

On Monday, March 18, Maverick Dining will roll out a new halal option. Maverick Dinning will feature O'Desi Aroma Indian Cuisine on its Street Eats station in the Connection Cafe. There will also be grab-and-go options in the University Center Market available.

Bring home free clothes in a decorated tote bag

The Maverick Pantry is hosting a thrift pop up and DIY tote bag event in collaboration with Student Government and the Office of Sustainability on Wednesday, March 20, at the Library East Mall Zone from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Students will pick out their favorite clothing and then take their goodies home in a tote bag that they decorated themselves.

UTA and the National Science Foundation have teamed up to host a workshop discussing the benefits of graduate school and how to earn funding through fellowships. The workshop will be on Friday, March 22, 12-5 p.m. in the Engineering Research Building, Room 228. Lunch and $150 stipends will be provided to qualified participants until funds run out. The Ben and Trudy Termini Distinguished Anthropologist Lecture for 2024 will be given by David Samson, director of the Sleep and Human Evolution Lab at the University of Toronto at Mississauga.
