We are currently updating the request form for all things spirit and wanted to ensure that our Jaguar family was in the know regarding our reservation process.

Sign Up for the Mobile Mammogram Screening
|
A&M-San Antonio will be hosting a mobile mammogram screening in partnership with University Health.
You are a candidate for a mammogram if you:
- Are age 40 or older.
- Have not had a mammogram in the past 12 months.
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding.

Have no unusual breast symptoms such as a lump, pain, changes in skin or nipple discharge.
Tuesday, Oct. 14 | 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

To Register:
1. Click on Schedule a Mobile Mammography Appointment.
2. Fill out the screening questionnaire.
3. Enter October 14 and TAMUSA appointments will appear.

Apply to the Course Design Institute
|
Applications are now open for the Course Design Institute. The CDI will prepare faculty participants to develop service-learning approved courses at A&M-San Antonio. This two-day institute will take place on Jan. 6 and 13, 2026. Participants must attend both dates to complete the program.
Please complete the CDI Interest Form by November 21. Contact the Mays Center at mays@tamusa.edu with any questions.

College of Arts and Sciences Seminar Series: Dr. Hemant Kulkarni |
As part of the College Seminar Series, Dr. Kulkarni will discuss his research projects about novel, inexpensive and non-invasive uses of AI for disease screening. He will also present an overview of some exciting research ideas in this field, including the potential use of AI in genetic risk screening. Lastly, he will share some of the University's Public Health Genetics and Genomics Group's pathbreaking research initiatives.

Updates Regarding System Regulation 15.99.03: Research Misconduct |
Dr. Stacy Pritt, The Texas A&M University System's associate vice chancellor and chief research compliance officer, will be on campus to provide important information about the System's updated regulation regarding research misconduct.
The federal regulation will take effect January 1, 2026, and campuses must complete preparations for these changes by the end of October.
This session is highly recommended for faculty, staff and administrators involved in research oversight and compliance. Attendees are encouraged to take the following survey before the session on "The Basics of Research Misconduct".

University alumnus is first computer science graduate to begin a Ph.D. at an R1 University |
When German Villafuerte graduated from Texas A&M University–San Antonio in spring 2025 with a degree in computer science, he wasn’t just celebrating a milestone—he was making history. Villafuerte became the first graduate from the program to be accepted into a Ph.D. in computer science at a Tier One research university, earning a full scholarship to the University of Houston.

| Balancing the Court and the Classroom: Coach Chris Minner’s Pursuit of a Ph.D. |
As Coach Chris Minner was leading the inaugural women's basketball team to an 18–12 overall record and a spot in the Red River Athletic Conference semifinals, he was also pursuing a Ph.D. in leadership studies at the University of the Cumberlands. It's a pursuit that he says is about preparation, perspective and setting an example. Minner is scheduled to finish the four-year program next summer.
