The Pomodoro Technique is a useful way to avoid procrastination and manage your time effectively. The key to this technique is to focus on a task for 25 minutes, then take a five-minute break. Plan the task, then set up a 25-minute timer. Work on the task until the task is complete, taking a five-minute break after each 25-minute focused session. Try this technique to break down larger assignments or study sessions into smaller, more manageable sessions.
|
The Pomodoro Technique is a good way to beat procrastination and make real progress. It works especially well for writing. Try this: spend one Pomodoro (25 minutes) brainstorming, the next drafting your introduction, and another revising a body paragraph. Before you know it, your paper is taking shape!
Better yet, think of a writing tutorial at IUP’s Kathleen Jones White Writing Center as a Pomodoro routine for your writing. In one focused session (about two Pomodoros), a tutor can help you organize your thoughts, strengthen your argument, or work through a trouble spot. Book your next writing tutorial today!
