Catherine McGowin
Assistant Director of Admission Events
Catherine McGowin joined the Office of Admission in September 2021 as a Department Assistant. On the cusp of her own graduation from TU, she moved into her current role as Assistant Director of Admission Events on February 1. Catherine works with the rest of the visit team to make the ideas of large scale admission events, personalized daily visits, and student/faculty formal receptions a reality. Over the last two and a half years in college admission, she says her favorite part of her role is “connecting with students for whom I’ve made appointments, I've seen at events, and then I've witnessed choose TU. Oftentimes, they don’t see me on the back end, but I love getting to cheer them on throughout the process.” Catherine's new role requires creativity, logistical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work with many personalities. She invites you and your students to visit TU!

Early Decision to begin Fall 2025 term
The University of Tulsa will offer Early Decision as an application plan option for first-year students applying for Fall 2025!
While we already offer non-binding Early Action (EA) application plans and
will continue to do so, adding Early Decision (ED) will be new for us. Upon the recommendation of our Counselor Advisory Board, we've been thoughtfully researching this possibility and are excited to announce that we'll offer Early Decision beginning with the Fall 2025 term!
We realize that Early Decision is not for everyone. In fact, most students won't apply ED, nor should they! But, for
those who are ready to commit to The University of Tulsa, we will be ready for them! Our hope for those admitted through the Early Decision application plan is that they’ll have a stress-free college planning process knowing their college decision is made. We’ll announce this update to students this summer, but wanted you to be among the first to know! Look for details on TU's website here in the coming months.

One of many unique opportunities offered at The University of Tulsa is the chance to earn two degrees on an accelerated track. Through TU’s Accelerated Law Program, students in TU's Kendall College of Arts & Sciences and TU's Collins College of Business, in collaboration with TU's College of Law, can complete both their undergraduate degree and their juris doctor degree in just six years. Students apply during the fall semester of their third or junior year in undergraduate school. Those with AP, IB or transfer credits allowing them to reach junior year standing in fewer than three years could potentially apply in the fall of their sophomore year as long as all undergraduate coursework requirements are met prior to beginning law school JD courses. Learn more here.

| “The program has allowed me to pursue my dream career at a faster pace than traditional students, while also saving me a year’s worth of tuition and living expenses. Being an accelerated law student has never failed to amaze interviewers and employers!”
~Blake Chrismer (BSBA ’23), an accelerated business and law student.
“The accelerated program front-loaded my core classes to graduate efficiently, which meant I had some intense 19-credit-hour semesters due to starting later. However, this experience was instrumental in preparing me for the rigor of law school. I’m incredibly grateful for discovering the accelerated program because the time and money I’ve saved have been truly remarkable.”
~Madison Perigo, a senior business undergrad and in her second year of law school.

For those interested in real estate investment, market analysis, brokerage, acquisitions, and sustainable development, TU offers a minor in real estate, a student club, opportunities to attend local and national professional conferences, research opportunities with peers and professors, and networking opportunities with industry professionals. The center will also be a nexus for academic research in real estate.

Thousands of vibrant yellow tulips bloomed around campus this spring providing a stunning burst of color uplifting the spirits of TU's students, faculty, staff and visitors. Yellow tulips represent energy, joy and new beginnings; how perfect for our students as they’re finishing the semester strong and transitioning to their summer and post-graduation plans.
