Mandatory Preseason Training
Attending a preseason Snow School Orientation is a mandatory piece of your work training. If you have not yet completed one, please use the following link to find either your New Staff or Return Staff SSO and complete it by February 1st.
Ongoing Paid Training
All staff have the opportunity to upgrade their teaching skills with an ongoing paid training. Please chat with your supervisor to find a session that would be appropriate for you and your development.
Park Safety and Teaching Steeps sessions are organized through your supervisor (they can put your name forward if they feel it is appropriate for you and your work).
Skill Development for Kids, Terrain Progression and Decision Making, Basics of Base and all ones that are self sign up.
**Remember only 1 paid session per staff member unless otherwise specified by your supervisors
**Please work with the schedulers to ensure you are not scheduled for work on a day that you would like to attend a training, and that the paid session will NOT put you into overtime.
Elective Training
- Yoga- we have a new yoga class staring on Wednesdays at the cabin with Kaya.
- Spanish Lessons available on Tuesdays!
- Niche sessions like CARV clinics and Physics in Skiing sessions
Thank you for everyone that has filled out the training survey. Your feedback has been fantastic! It is anonymous and only goes to me, so please keep filling them out.
Delivering Adventure Podcast
Did you know that we are willing to pay you to listen to a podcast?
There are so many ways we can learn to teach better, safer lessons and the DA podcast is a great way to learn from other's experiences.
Check out the website below to learn how to get paid to listen and reflect on certain episodes.
As a final note, we are trying diligently to provide training for everyone in the school. If there is something we are missing, or you don't feel like we are providing something to help you in your job or personal development, let us know and we'll do our best! wbsbstraining@vailresorts.com.
Take care everyone and we'll see you up there.
