Reilly Accepts Position of Dean, College of Education and Human Services |
Edel Reilly, former interim dean of the IUP College of Education and Human Services, has accepted the position of dean of the College of Education and Human Services. Reilly is fully committed to advancing IUP in all ways, serving in important university-wide leadership roles in addition to her academic and administrative responsibilities. She is a thoughtful and skilled leader who is deeply respected for her knowledge and expertise and for her ability to create strong teams and interdisciplinary relationships and programs. Congratulations on your newest post, Dr. Reilly!

To help prepare for your academic advising meeting, review your degree requirements and course options by accessing your specific academic information in Degree Works, located in the MyIUP portal. You will also find your academic advisor information in the Success Team card.
In addition to your primary academic advisor, the Advising Center at IUP can assist students who need additional advising assistance regarding policy, degree requirements, and needing guidance on major, minor, or certificate exploration. The Advising Center is located in the University College, Stabley Library B01. Students can visit or email advising-center@iup.edu for assistance.

Here, we will test your summoning skills in a Commander MTG Tournament hosted by the IUP Analog Gaming Club. Join in on the magic on Saturday, March 1, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in Breezedale Alumni Center.

Attend the POIZ Valentine’s Show for 2025! Saturday, March 1, will be a night of passion and love as we showcase our dances and modeling sequences we have worked on so far this semester—you won’t want to miss it! Attend the event from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room.

This free dance class hosted by the Obsidian Dance Troupe is open to everyone. People will learn and perform a dance choreographed and taught by the ODT captains. Just show up in comfortable clothes and bring water. The class will occur on Monday, March 3, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room.

Celebrate National Nutrition Month by kicking off March with a Green Smoothie! The Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND) will be selling smoothies for $2 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the HUB Atrium on Wednesday, March 5. Be sure to stop by! Both cash and Venmo are accepted.

Join us in welcoming back to IUP our esteemed guest presenter, Adrianna Branin, a proud IUP alumna, Inclusion Diversity Equity and Access (IDEA) manager for the City of Pittsburgh, and violence prevention educator and advocate.
Learn about underage and dangerous drinking, recognizing how that impacts our own wellness and how alcohol use plays a role in being an active bystander when it comes to helping others. Attendance vouchers will be available. All are welcome on March 3 in the Elkin Hall Great Room from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Feeling a mid-semester crunch? Join the Office of International Education on Wednesday, March 5, at 11:30 a.m. in North Dining Hall for a supportive conversation about managing stress and navigating mid-semester concerns. As we approach International Women’s Day, we will also touch on how self-care is crucial in empowering ourselves and supporting each other.

Practice proper dining etiquette by not talking with your mouth full, using utensils correctly (we work from the outside inwards), and waiting for everyone to be served before eating. Engage in polite conversation, and avoid interrupting or being a story topper. Good manners are all about helping you to feel at ease and enjoy the meal!
The CPDC is hosting its spring Etiquette Dinner on Monday, April 7, at 5:30 p.m. Registration is open until March 19 at 4:30 p.m. The cost is $10 if you register before March 3 at 4:30 p.m. The cost will then be $15 until registration closes. Reserve your spot!

Please join Provost Luetkehans as she provides updates on Academic Affairs initiatives on March 3 from 11:20 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. in Sutton Hall’s Blue Room. Questions and comments can be submitted in advance. The deadline for submitting questions is Friday, February 28. If you plan to participate in person, no registration is required. If you will attend via Zoom, please register in advance.

March 3 through March 6 is Student Safety Week. IUP offers free safety trainings throughout the week starting at 5:00 p.m. in Leonard Hall, B02. The training will teach attendees to protect themselves and help to create a safer community for everyone. Giveaways will be available to assist students in case of future emergency scenarios. The trainings are:

On March 4 at 7:30 p.m., “Classic Meets Rock 2” takes the Fisher Auditorium stage when IUP’s String Ensemble collaborates with local rock band Somebody to Love. This unique concert will feature music from the Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, and many more. IUP students receive a free ticket at the door with their I-Card.
