New Year/New Staff Members

Happy new year! We hope you had an enjoyable winter break! In addition to ringing in the new year, The University of Tulsa Office of Admission recently welcomed two new staff members, Meredith Barker and Matthew Slusser, who are filling newly created positions for our office. Meet them here:

Meredith Barker, Admission Counselor
Meredith began at TU in the fall just in time to visit some of her high schools to meet students and counselors in person. Her territory includes some Tulsa area schools as well as schools in Arizona, California, Colorado and other western states. New to college admission, Meredith has more than 10 years of experience in human resources and executive recruitment and is excited to bring her recruitment expertise to higher education for TU. About her first four months with TU, Meredith had this to say: "The University of Tulsa truly values its employees, supports its community, and places the utmost priority on what is best for those who matter most ... our students. I’m honored to be a small part of TU.”

| Matthew Slusser, DFW Regional Admission Counselor
After graduating from a small Christian college, this southern Kansas native worked as an admission counselor for his alma mater and then as a regional rep for a public research university before joining TU in December. Matt joins our DFW regional admission counselor Faith Nichols to serve families and counselors in the DFW metroplex and has this message for you: "In addition to the great atmosphere and availability of our team, my favorite thing about TU is our intentional, small- class size approach to our education which guarantees our students the best one-on-one instruction from their professors! I truly look forward to growing more at TU and working more closely with you all in the future!!"
