| A Message from Chalene Helmuth |
Dear Vanderbilt families,
Welcome to Vanderbilt.
As your student joins the Vanderbilt community, they are becoming part of a university where learning extends well beyond the classroom. Vanderbilt is a place where students are encouraged to engage with new ideas, build meaningful relationships with faculty and peers, and continue the conversations that begin in their courses through experiences across campus. These moments of connection foster curiosity, belonging, and the confidence to thrive both academically and personally.

Shaping the Future of Computing with the College of Connected Computing—Hosted by Dean Matthew Johnson-Roberson |
This special webinar introduces the College of Connected Computing, Vanderbilt’s first new college in more than 40 years. The CCC prepares students to apply computing where human insight matters most: across science, policy, medicine, design and beyond. As the CCC welcomes students with a range of interests and backgrounds, it offers exciting new academic opportunities at Vanderbilt with programs in computer science, data science and generative AI.
Matthew Johnson-Roberson, inaugural dean of the College of Connected Computing, will share insights on academic programs, coursework, research, careers and more. This session will provide a valuable look into how the CCC is shaping the future of computing at Vanderbilt.
The webinar will be recorded. Browse the list of all past webinars in the Webinar Archive.

Student meal plans start on Aug. 19. On Move-In Day, a free lunch will be provided by Campus Dining for students and guests in The Commons Lawn tent from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The first few weeks of the fall semester will be a transition period for students and Campus Dining, which may result in busier dining halls and longer waits. This will improve as students settle into routines. Please encourage your students to use Campus Dining’s online platform, which lists hours and menus for all campus locations.
