We are delighted your student chose Vanderbilt University as their home away from home. They will flourish in our dynamic living-learning community that makes the Vanderbilt experience unique. Our outstanding faculty, administration and staff are here to care and support them throughout their collegiate journey.

Commodore Connection is an email newsletter series created exclusively for families of Vanderbilt students. You will receive monthly issues tailored for the families of transfer students from June until Move-In in August. Once your student is on campus, you will receive a monthly edition that is sent to all undergraduate families.

We are looking forward to seeing you on campus in August and hope you will visit as often as you can. Please save the date for Family Weekend, which will be Oct. 13–15, 2023. It will be a weekend full of fun activities, so come out to help us cheer on our ’Dores as they take on Georgia.

As members of the Vanderbilt community, we also encourage you to connect with your local Vanderbilt Chapter through virtual and in-person events when available. To find your local Vanderbilt Chapter and information on events happening in your area, please visit our Vanderbilt Chapter page.

Your New VU Webinars

Join the Office of Student Transitions and Community Engagement on Zoom to learn about vital campus resources for incoming transfer students. All webinars are on Wednesdays from noon to 12:45 p.m. CT. All those who attend are entered into drawings for VU swag! For those unable to attend, sessions are recorded and linked within one week of live event.

Save the date for Family Weekend 2023 on campus Oct. 13−15

Your family is part of ours, and we want to celebrate that with you. Make plans to come early, as information sessions, panels and open houses begin on Friday, Oct. 13. Help us cheer on our ’Dores versus Georgia on Saturday, Oct. 14. Registration will open Aug. 22. Be on the lookout for a schedule of events!

Commodore Launches are a 50+ year tradition focused on welcoming incoming students and families to the Vanderbilt community. Join fellow students, families and alumni as we welcome our newest Commodores and launch their Vanderbilt experience! Celebrations will be held throughout the summer across the country and the globe. More parties may be added, so be sure to check back frequently.
