Dear St. Lukers,
We are so excited that donuts and coffee fellowship is coming back this week! It’s been just over two years since we all gathered in the Rotunda after worship and listened to the buzz of conversation and laughter. We have made light of it in the past, making it about the donuts (which if you are new, I promise you they are really good). But truthfully, it’s about the moment and feel in the Welcome Hall that happens when St. Lukers come from both worship venues, it is actually one of those Kingdom of God moments. It’s the moments when you can visibly see, hear, and feel the core values of Christ-centered love being expressed through Acceptance, Hospitality, and Community. It will be so good to gather with you after worship this week and reconnect in this important experience as a body of Christ.
But first, you will get to have a chance to LOVE God and God’s story through WORSHIP. Make sure to take a moment and LEARN Jesus’ story for this week by reading Mark 12, and listening to Pastor Melissa dig into the meaning of the chapter either on the podcast by clicking here, or if you are more of a video person you can watch the episode on St. Luke’s YouTube channel (betcha didn’t know we had one of those!) by clicking here. However you take in the information, using the opportunity to really learn the story before worship will help you grow as a disciple, enter the space ready to rehearse the story, and hear how Jesus asks us in this chapter to die to our facades to better live fully as his followers. This week in worship we will also be welcoming new members who are becoming Partners with us in the work of revealing the Kingdom together at St Luke’s. We hope to see you in worship as we make our way closer and closer to the cross AND resurrection!
