New Study: United Methodist Social Principles
Thursdays @ 7pm via ZOOM January 30 - February 27 (5 sessions) Led by Pastor Jessica and Mel Hazlewood |
Join with other Wellspringers in discussion about our United Methodist Social Principles, which reflect the United Methodist response to today’s most pressing social issues. First adopted by the 1972 General Conference, the Social Principles document stands in the Wesleyan tradition of forthright moral witness and ethical action. The Social Principles articulate our ethical aspirations for the common good in our public policies and personal commitments. Through them, we seek to love God with our whole heart, mind, soul , and strength and to desire for our neighbors what we desire for ourselves. During an eight year timeframe, Church and Society managed a global process to revise the Social Principles in their entirety (2012 - 2020). The momentous effort was adopted by General Conference Charlotte, 2024.

Congregational Care Ministry Training Coming to Wellspring!
Now Recruiting New Members! |
Our Congregational Care Ministry serves our church family by walking with those who need a little extra care. It might be a visit to a hospital room or an assisted living apartment, a phone call after surgery, a care bag at Easter, or a ride to a doctor’s visit. Maybe it’s a get-well card, support after a death or divorce, or refreshments after a memorial service. Whatever our church family needs, we do our best to provide the care.
The Horizon Texas Conference is making congregational care a priority for the coming year and is sponsoring 4 seminars to provide training in this important ministry. Our church has been selected to host the Care Ministry Training Seminar that will be held on Friday Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1 from 9 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. each day. It is free of charge for attendees!
Our Congregational Care Ministry is currently recruiting new members for our group and want you to know what a great opportunity we will have to receive training at this seminar. We will have a table in The Brightwell Place for the next 2 Sundays after each service to answer your questions and give you information about our ministry and how to register for the seminar. No matter what your gifts are, we have a place for you in our ministry!
