Are You Ready To Vote!! Are You Sure?!
Voter Registration Sunday Sept. 8 and 15
The Good Grief Group and the Open Circle Sunday School Class wants everyone to vote in this year’s election happening on Nov. 5, with early voting starting on Oct. 21 and we want to help you do so!
Voter registration for our November elections ends on Oct. 7 so its time to check your voter status. Did you know that over 1 million voters have been removed from Texas voter rolls? If you need to register to vote we will have Voter Deputy Registrars available to help you on Sunday Sept. 8 and 15. We also want to offer rides to the polls and we can help you check your voter status. We can help you locate your polling location. Whatever you need to vote this year, we’ll help you do it! Look for us in the Brightwell Place or contact Judy Schlobohm at 512-591-7094. You can check your voter status at:

Courts and Ports
by Becky Houser
I recently made a trip with 7 friends from my church to the Texas border to learn about the “invasion.” We joined a non-partisan program called Courts & Ports sponsored by Texas Impact.
I crossed the border into Mexico at Matamoros on foot. I walked across the bridge. I visited a medGlobal free clinic. I talked with migrants at a river encampment awaiting their turn to enter the U.S. I saw the border from the southern side. I saw the row after row after row after row after row of razor wire along the U.S. embankment. I saw weary smiles and eyes filled with... [CLICK HERE TO READ MORE]

Empowering Ourselves for Caregiving and Care Receiving
Plan now to join us on Saturday,
September 14 – 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. |
Rosalyn Carter once said, “There are only four kinds of people in the world: those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who will need caregivers.” Caregiving is a life responsibility that the majority of us will be called upon to fulfill, yet there is very little opportunity for preparing for this role or to learn how to physically and emotionally cope with this time in our lives in healthy ways. Our workshop will focus on resources available for caregiving, as well as preparing for the psychological stress of caregiving, and for the time that we will need care from others. Please plan to join us for this important workshop.

New Journey with Joy Sunday School Study Begins this Sun, Sept 8
The Prayers of Jesus
Prayer was the backbone of Jesus' life and ministry. From his baptism to his crucifixion, the Gospels portray Jesus as a man of prayer who knew and deeply valued intimate communion with his heavenly Father. What can we learn from the prayers he prayed? In six engaging and interactive sessions, this Deeper Connections DVD study explores the prayers of Jesus, revealing new insights into prayer, the character of God, and our relationship with him. Participant Guides are available in room 204 (upstairs chapel) for $10. If you would like to have a copy of the guide delivered to your home, please reach out to Dolly (dollyshubert@yahoo.com) or Linda (mileslm75@gmail.com). All are welcome!.
