Unusual Planets
It's been a quirky summer in New England, with more rainy days than most of us would like to experience ever again. And here at the studio, after his knee surgery a month ago, Josh is not yet his usual whirlwind self... but he's on the mend! So, in celebration of all things quirky and atypical, today we feature two series of unusual Simpson Planets.

Miniweights are the same size as traditional Little Planets (1.75") and Otherworlds (2.25"), but each has a flattened, polished base, like Planet Paperweights, so they can sit on your desk without rolling off into a new and unexpected orbit.

Planet Spheres are the same diameter as 3" Planet Paperweights but, instead of having a flattened base, they're totally round. These are rarely made, each one with a core created by Josh and a full round shape crafted by Tucker Litchfield using a special (i.e. difficult!) technique. Note: you'll need a stand or a major wad of bubble gum to keep them in place.

Tucker Litchfield and our valued summer assistant, Atticus Peters, have been focusing their full attention on grinding and polishing the bases of new 3" Planets.
