New emergency medicine residency aims to keep doctors in Kansas

To help meet Kansas’ growing need for emergency department physicians, KU School of Medicine-Wichita is launching a new accredited emergency medicine residency at Wesley Healthcare this summer. The goal is simple: train more emergency physicians who are ready to serve communities across the state.

The Kansas City Researchers in Biomedical Science (KC RiBS) group is hosting Brews & Breakthroughs at Cinderblock Brewery. The event is designed to bring together members of the Kansas City scientific community and the general public in a relaxed, welcoming environment, emphasizing connection and conversation rather than formal presentations—no slides, no jargon, and no prior science background required.
