SUU Tailgate at Utah
SUU Tailgate at Utah
Join T-Bird Nation as we tailgate prior to the SUU at Utah football game on Thursday, August 29th. Tailgate time is 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Tailgate Island, the grass space located between South Campus Drive and 500 South. Our tailgate location is just west of the TRAX South Campus Station and is a short walk from the station. Tailgate tickets are only $5, so be part of the excitement and help us cheer on the Thunderbirds!

General Counsel
New General Counsel
After an extensive national search, Lucia Maloy has been named as our institution's new general counsel. Lucia has served in a legal counsel capacity for SUU since 2020, most recently as associate general counsel for the Office of Legal Affairs.

NASA Internship
NASA Europa Clipper Intern
Dallin Nelson, a computer science major, has been selected to participate in NASA's Europa ICONS internship program. Only 40 undergraduate applicants from across the nation are selected for this prestigious opportunity to support NASA's Europa Clipper mission and conduct original research on subjects pertaining to the mission.

If you are a parent of an incoming freshman or transfer student this fall, we invite you to a Legacy Parent Mix & Mingle - during Thunder U - at the R. Haze Hunter Alumni Center, Suite 103, on Monday, August 26th, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Stop by and visit with our team, meet the Student Alumni Association, enjoy a few goodies, and pick up your FREE Legacy Parent t-shirt to wear during the Carter Carillon Tradition at 11:30 a.m.

Prestigious Medical School
Accepted at Prestigious Medical School
Alexa Lord, who earned a 2023 bachelor's degree in biology and a 2024 MBA, has been admitted to a top-ten medical school at the prestigious Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. With an acceptance rate of only 4.5%, this is truly an honor for Alexa, who is a former student-athlete, and a testament to the quality of our pre-medical program.

Our 2024 Alumni T-Shirt is ready for preorder with a suggested donation of $8. We are happy to ship your t-shirt in time for Homecoming, but if you live in the Cedar City area, please plan to pick up your t-shirt at our office inside the R. Haze Hunter Alumni Center. Preorder deadline is Friday, August 23.

August 15: Washington County Alumni & Athletics Lunch, Noon, at the Best Western Plus Abbey Inn. Guest speakers include President Mindy Benson, and Coaches DeLane Fitzgerald and Scotty Bauman. RSVP deadline is Friday, August 9. RSVP TODAY!
August 26: Legacy Parent Mix & Mingle, 9-11 a.m., Hunter Alumni Center. For all who attended SUU and are parents of an incoming freshman or transfer student this fall. Learn more and RSVP.

August 28: Fall Semester Begins. View fall semester calendar. 
August 29: SUU Football at Utah Tailgate and Football Game. Tailgate begins at 5 p.m. and kick-off is at 7 p.m. Tickets are only $5, so bring the family and help us cheer on the Thunderbirds. Purchase your tickets here.  
September 11: Learning Lives Forever Virtual Event - Why Your Kids and Grandkids Should Have a Roth IRA. Learn the benefits of a Roth IRA for kids and how it compares to other savings vehicles and tips for instilling financial savings and investment success. This Zoom event will take place at 4 p.m. Learn more and RSVP.
