Home for the Holidays kicks off soon!

For the second year in a row, Williams Company will build a house over the course of two weeks in our Silver Pines Pointe community. The build will kick off with an opening ceremony on Nov. 29 and will close with a touching key ceremony on Dec. 10. Watch the video below for a recap of our inaugural Home for the Holidays.

Meet our Home for the Holidays homeowner: Shuprina

Throughout Shuprina’s homeownership journey, her three children have watched her overcome obstacles and make many sacrifices. She hopes that it has shown her children that anything is possible. “You can do it … if you want a home, you can get the home through hard work and sacrifice,” she said.

Greystar raises over $70K for affordable homes in Central Florida

Volunteers are back on the build site and Greystar kicked off opening day in a big way! They raised over $70,000 for Habitat as a celebration of the success of their most recent projects. “I would say Habitat has one of the best missions,” said Lewis Stoneburner Jr., managing director of development. “We look for organizations that are organized and have a track record of success that can put money to work and really impact the communities, and Habitat does all those things.”

CEO in OBJ’s housing coverage

President & CEO Catherine Steck McManus’ insights were included in several articles in the Orlando Business Journal’s “Community Impact: Affordable Housing” coverage in October. “Right now, Central Florida has a 70,000 affordable home deficit, and that number will grow,” McManus said. “Advocacy and change in public policy is where we can take leaps and bounds in alleviating the affordable housing crisis.”
