Alani Ofelia Harrison-Rivera was born on May 29 to proud parents Max Harrison and Dalishka Rivera.
St. Lukers Joseph and Shannon Harrison are the happy grandparents.
Ruth McKeefery achieved another milestone in June when she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Ruth joined St. Luke’s in 1995 and became involved right away. She worked closely with Pastor Bill Barnes for four years to launch Shepherd’s Hope, then devoted her time to the Community Counseling Center, and next moved on to the Educational IMPACT program to help build it far beyond St. Luke’s support to touch more children's lives.
Wanting to help the ministers of the future, she created the Ruth McKeefery Scholarship Fund to support students attending seminary. She also has a love of writing and storytelling and has taught a class “Recording Your Life Story“ several times here at the church.
Her children and grandchildren celebrated with her for an entire week and many of her church and local friends gathered for a lovely party on her special day, June 18.
A very happy birthday to you, Ruth!
On June 18, Ravi Siro Dantas was baptized.
Joining him on this special day were his family, including his parents Rafael and Ashley, and special grandparent Sherry Strickland.
Welcome to the family, Ravi!
Jordan Charles Smith was baptized on June 18.
Joining him on this special day were his family, including parents Chris and Jaci, and grandparents Kelly and Dave Smith.
Welcome to the family, Jordan!
On June 18, Elias Javier Morales-Pacheco was baptized.
Joining him on this special day was his family, including parents Yessenia and Javier.
Welcome to the family, Elias!

St. Luker Jayne Morrison passed away on June 3, 2020.
Jayne was a partner with St. Luke's since 1997 and was a devoted member of our music ministry.
A service for Jayne was held on June 3 in the Sanctuary.
Please keep Jayne's family and all who loved her in your prayers.
Walter Stacy Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 23, just shy of his 100th birthday.
Walter served in the US Navy as a pilot during WW2 and was a proud veteran. He cared deeply for this church, his family, and all people.
A private family gathering to honor him will be held at a later date.
Please keep his family, including his wife Doris, son and daughter-in-law, Walt Jr. and Diane, in your prayers.
The COVID-19 Emergency Help Fund was established in 2020. Because of the generosity of our community over $200,000 of donations were used to touch countless lives for the better.
Thank you to Pastor Jad and Kim Parades for your outstanding coordinated effort to manage and distribute these funds! Awesome job!
St. Luke's United Women in Faith have given monetary support to several of St. Luke's Missions outreach partnerships, including Inside Out Jail Ministry, The New Life Transitional Home, and Jobs Partnership!
All of the proceeds made at the Blessed Treasures Gift Shop and other fundraising events help these local missions and several around the world.
Summer Camps Continue Children's Learning
Even though the school year ended at the Child Development Center, the learning did not!
Camps for our preschool children offer opportunities to continue social-emotional development, science skills, language skills, and physical development.
Of course, there is lots of fun too!
Julie Young has retired after 28 years of working with Walt Disney Parks Global.
At the time of her retirement, Julie was a Senior Manager of Experiences and Products.
Congrats on your retirement and next chapter, Julie!
St. Luke's Missions and Circles West Orange partnered with Bread for the World, at the 2023 Bread for the World Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC.
What made this summit special for us as Missions staff was sharing the experience with our friends from Circles West Orange.
We learned so much from one another’s stories and experiences. We celebrate the lessons we learned through how they modeled to us the art of advocacy through authentic personal stories and the courage it takes to be vulnerable!
We say thank you to them and honor their stories by continuing the work. We also thank those who participated in the in-person "Offering of Letters," and those who continue to send us your letters – which is an act of honoring their stories.
The July featured Staff Shout Out goes to our Production Manager, Tiffany Meadows-Green!
Shout Out to Tiffany for keeping us on track, whether it’s worship, theatre, or even our Adult Ministries. She has pivoted well with all of the transitions involved with our summer show, the staff, etc., and kept us moving forward.
Congratulations, Tiffany!
