American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) PK-12 educators convened at Maseeh College while in town for hhe convention. Over 100 educators visited the building, and we we gave tours to a few dozen local educators and demonstrated Maseeh's outreach impact with donors, as well. A successful event all around.

On May 17th, Portland State University hosted MESA Day 2024. Over 300 students, teachers, volunteers, and community members gathered at the Viking Pavilion to celebrate the end of the MESA year. The day was a great success, featuring a student invention showcase themed around Designing for Environmental Conservation, exciting competitions, and a college and career fair in the afternoon. Students from across Oregon came to the PSU campus, demonstrating their dedication to innovation, environmental sustainability, and a brighter STEAM future. - The Undergraduate Research and Mentorship Program (URMP) kicked off on June 21 for the summer. Fourteen students will present their research posters at the New Student Welcome in September (more details about in the Upcoming events section below).

Tim Anderson (ETM) lead a campus-wide effort to successfully provide 90 Native students attending the Unity Conference the chance to tour Portland State. Tour stops included Maseeh College, Native American Student and Community Center (NASCC), Indigenous Traditional Ecological & Cultural Knowledge (ITECK), the Oak Savannah, and the School of Business.

- Don’s party was a chance to bid a bittersweet farewell to everyone's favorite Facilities Manager, Don Mueller, and mingle with faculty and staff before the end of Spring Term.

Thanks in large part to hard work of Emily Hahn (Student Success and Recruitment Coordinator), the t-shirts are here, and the New Student Welcome is happening September 25th from 10 am to 3 pm. Victor E. Viking will be helping Maseeh Ambassadors and staff welcome our new students. Campus partners, resources, and student groups will be tabling in the atrium. and department offices will be holding open houses. Dean Joseph Bull will speak, lunch will be provided, and to speak at 11:30, followed by lunch for all, and finally department-specific orientations will be offered in the afternoon. Come stop by the photo booth, high-five PSU's mascot Victor E. Viking, check out the new swag, and potentially pet an animal friend as part of the festivities!

The STEM Transfer Student Summit will take place on September 20th from 9am to 2 pm in the Native American Student Community Center (NASCC). Maseeh is partnering with the Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) to bridge the gap for new STEM transfer students attending in Fall 2024. This Summit will include networking for new transfer students, information about internships and other opportunities to pursue at PSU, and community building.

Our College will host almost 100 pre-college students for summer camps and research internships this summer, including the reboot of CyberPDX. Partner organizations include Girls Inc. Eureka! Camp, Saturday Academy, and the Institute for Computing Research.
