Happy Cinco de Mayo! It’s the last week of classes. (Deep breath.) Looking for a break from studying for final exams? This week is the last chance to check out the BFA Senior Exhibition — a showcase of work done by senior art students — in the Crossman Gallery at the Greenhill Center of the Arts (the last day is May 8).

First look at new renderings for Winther, Heide halls

Plans to renovate Winther Hall, home of UW-Whitewater’s College of Education and Professional Studies, and Heide Hall are officially underway. Renderings of interior and exterior spaces have been finalized by the university and Somerville Architects + Engineers.

Karaoke Night at the UC

Hired Before Graduation concludes this week

UW-Whitewater’s annual Hired Before Graduation campaign continues this Tuesday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in room 275 B of the University Center. If you’re a student graduating this May and are hired by an employer, promoted by your current employer, accepted to graduate school, or starting your own business, stop in to have your professional photo taken. Can’t make it to campus? Contact umc@uww.edu to see how you can participate remotely.

Kudos to Susan Wildermuth, professor of communication and co-director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Learning, Scholarship and Technology (CATLST), for being selected as keynote speaker for the spring 2025 Women Who Care member reception. Women Who Care is a philanthropic group of women committed to making a difference in their communities. Affiliated with Fort HealthCare, the group gathers to build relationships, learn about health challenges in the area, and seek ways to help others.

Are you graduating this May and planning to attend your commencement ceremony? If so, you receive seven commencement wristbands — which serve as entry tickets — to distribute to your guests. Wristbands can be picked up through Friday, May 16, at One Stop, located in University Center room 129 (inside the Warhawk Connection Center) between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, or on the day of commencement at the WIlliams Center will-call window. Photo ID is required to pick up wristbands. Commencement »

Camile Mejia finds her fit in counseling

A second-year graduate student in UW-Whitewater’s Master of Science in Counseling program, Camile Mejia was drawn to the university for its location and the program’s national accreditation.
