UW-Whitewater to host Special Olympics State Summer Games |
For the second straight year, UW-Whitewater will welcome Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes and coaches to campus for the State Summer Games. The event is scheduled to take place June 6-8, 2024. | Scholarships for students

Applications for scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year are currently accepting submissions! UW-Whitewater students have the opportunity to apply for numerous scholarships totaling over $2.5 million annually. These scholarships are available through the UW-Whitewater Foundation or specific colleges and majors. The deadline for the majority of scholarships is Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024.

Jodie Parys, professor of world languages and cultures, who oversaw 15 students who participated in a travel study to Costa Rica focused on health and aging. Students learned about "pura vida,” stayed with host families to improve their Spanish, visited a traditional medicine healer and senior center, and traveled to Nicoya Peninsula, which is one of the world's five Blue Zones, to meet with older adults and learn secrets to health and longevity.

Spend time with certified therapy dogs at the Andersen Library (main floor) on alternating Mondays and Tuesdays from noon to 2 p.m. No RSVP is required. In addition, with the start of a new semester, we know many of you miss your pets while you’re away at school. Show your pet you’re thinking of them by making a goodie bag and rope toy while hanging out with therapy dogs on Tuesday, Feb. 13, from noon to 2 p.m. at Andersen Library.

#21 Men’s Basketball rematches UW-Stout on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 5 p.m. at Kachel Gymnasium in Williams Center. The game should be highly anticipated as the Blue Devils won the last contest on Jan. 13 at the buzzer 84-83. The Warhawks will look to continue their winning ways after a victory at UW-Eau Claire over the weekend. If not able to attend the game will be streamed on the WIAC Network.
